Comfort for every group
Fully equipped in the historic center of Harlingen
Art Hotel Harlingen is housed in a charming building in the historic city center of Harlingen. In the 18th century, physician Simon Stinstra and his affluent wife Anna Braam collected a remarkable art collection of over 200 works here. This was also the workplace and residence of father and son Hendrickus and Nicolaas Baur, painters and art dealers, in the 18th and 19th centuries.
In 2024, this historic site became the home of Art Hotel Harlingen. Located in the heart of Friesland’s only port city, it’s just a short walk from Harlingen Haven train station and the ferry terminal to Vlieland and Terschelling.
Here, we welcome you as warmly as Anna Braam once welcomed her guests—as friends of the family. You’ll sleep in a comfortable room and enjoy breakfast in the courtyard terrace on sunny mornings: crispy bread and freshly brewed cappuccino. We’ll reveal the city’s hidden gems, perfect for exploring on foot or by bike. In the evening, you’ll love dining in our restaurant, where the kitchen team prepares a delightful meal. End your day with a nightcap at our cozy bar—or perhaps a bold cocktail. Feel at home, away from home. Welcome!

The Art Hotel Harlingen features 19 rooms, each unique as you’d expect in a historic building. Photos on our website provide a good impression of the layout, size, and ambiance, but specific rooms cannot be guaranteed. If you have a preference, let us know—we’ll reserve it for you if available.
Please note: This historic building is not well-suited for guests with reduced mobility and does not have an elevator. Most rooms offer views of the city center or the courtyard and include private bathrooms. The entire hotel is smoke-free. We also have two pet-friendly rooms—please check for availability. Guests must be 18 or older to book a room, and a valid ID is required upon check-in.
